You know Portland, maybe you're not so bad...

Believe it or not I grew up about 35 mins north of Portland and can pretty much count on one hand how many times I visited Portland before adulthood. (Not counting the airport) People where I grew up avoid driving over the big scary bridge at all costs, and when they do they treat it like their going on an excursion to China. I wish I was kidding. ⠀

Over the past couple of years I’ve spent more time here than anywhere else. My appreciation for this city has grown immensely, so here are few things I’ve learned during my time in Portlandia: ⠀

Did you know Portland was named on a coin toss? Heads, Boston. Tails, Portland. ⠀

We have more microbreweries than anywhere...IN THE WORLD⠀

Portland is home to the largest independently owned bookstore....ever. ⠀

The voice of beloved Bugs Bunny was born right here Portland. ⠀

In 1908 Portland police department swore in Lola Baldwin, one of the very first female police officers in US history. ⠀

Downtown you will find the world smallest park according to the Guinness book of world records. A two feet in diameter park that was intended to be a light pole.⠀

Oh yeah....and one day each June, upwards of 13,0000 naked people ride their bikes around the city, just because they can. If that’s not your jam, then I invite you to stay home that day. 😂

Portland has really started to feel like home 🌹
